More quilts
and I'm ready to take pics, but my batteries died. I'm looking for another set of batteries while the other ones are charging, but no luck. I'll be back this evening with more ramblings of my past creations.

Sewing Notes
Just a note to remind myself to finish my bag today. Here's the pattern I chose over a month, I'm just sad that it's taking me so long for to finish it.

Finished Curtains!
I wish I could see these on the kitchen window that they are meant to be on, I really couldn't take a decent picture, so a closet photo will have to do, excuse the mess, I tried to crop out as much as I could. My daughter delivered them to her friend (and former room mate) yesterday. She loved them! She sent me a wonderful thank you card and mentioned that my daughter and I should go into business together selling our "hand-sewn wares". I love that! It was mind-boggling making them, no pattern, no sketch, just kind of pictured in my mind what she said she wanted. It didn't take long to sew them up once I sat down at the sewing machine. See I can sew, but I'm bit of a proscrastinator!
Okay now I'm off to finish Amy Butler's stash & dash bag that I started yesterday. It's good practice for attaching zippers, which I haven't sewn in a long time. Not since I use to sew little dresses for my daughter. I also have another totebag in the works. I'm currently using my big bag I made a few months ago. It's so much nicer and lighter to carry around than that little black, leather wanna-be I was using, ugh!

Graduation Time
Well, looks like I've neglected my blog again. It's been a busy couple of weeks. Our daughter will be graduating college at the end of the month (hurray!) and moving back home soon. So I've been scrambling trying to make room for the four years of stuff she's accumulated since living in the dorms and then sharing a condo with roommates. I know she should be cleaning her own room, but right now she has no time (and a little stressed) and I want it done! Besides going to graduation, we are also hosting a bbq/grad party for her, so time is running short and there is alot to do! Yikes!
In the meantime, I have managed to sew and embroider a little bit. I made a large totebag compared to those little ones, but I'm not sure it will suit me. Maybe too big. I'm going to continue with making bags because I'm having fun, but evenutally when life slows down a little I want to make a few tops for myself. I have found some cute patterns and would like to get back into garment making. It's been a long time since I've sewn clothes for myself, but I think it's time to do some serious sewing again.

More Totebags
I've had a busy weekend, I finished 2 more totebags. I actually had the 9 patch fronts done last weekend, but I was able to finish the totes this morning. I also have one more tote in a different style that I just need to sew in the lining. Since I like to post photos (my blog looks boring if I don't), here are the two completed ones. I did more decorative stitching, if you can see the detail. It was fun, I'm ready to make a totebag for myself, it will definately have to be bigger.
Here's machine embroidery close up, it's called a bunting stitch.

"Treasure Box" Totebags
Here are the totebags I made last weekend out of my stash that I no longer want.
They're small, measures 7"x7" plus handle, perfect for a child. I made four, but I gave one away already. I made them from a square quilt panel, I think it's called "cheater's quilt", something like that. I stitched diagonally across the panel using one of the decorative stitches on my sewing machine, in between the two different prints. If anything, I have a chance to play around with the different stitches that I never use on my machine.
Here's a close up of the stitching, which isn't bad. This machine isn't an expensive one, but it does have a few extra stitches that you can embellish with.
Okay, I'm off to meet a friend for lunch. I should be checking back within a few days. It's taking me hours just to get this posted!
