Quilting: Bloom Block Five and Six WIP

I hope you are all doing well. I just wanted to post an update on my Bloom Block Sew Along. Well, I can say that I am already behind, but it's been a busy week. Hopefully, I'll be done with these two blocks before next week and be working on block seven! Crossing my fingers!

As you can see I was able to work on my applique pieces this morning for block five. I'm out of the background fabric for these blocks, but it's on the way, yay! In the meantime, I'll sew up the Bloom applique pieces. I'm enjoying the process of sewing these little guys, I feel like I'm getting better at it.

Here's a photo from Lori Holt's blog on what the quilt should look like after all the blocks are completed. If you're interested in sewing or quilting (and haven't visited before) I would encourage to take a tour of her blog, she has a lot of great tips, tutorials, projects and photos of what she has made.

Your Paper Pantry February Card Swap

This month I'm in a card swap over at Your Paper Pantry. The theme is winter, and it's a post card. I haven't made a post card before, but should be easy, no different than a card. But it took me awhile to get my creative idea down, but here it is.

It should measure 4x6 and on the backside and it needs to have the post card stamp, well I don't have that stamp, but I did manage to find a digital stamp on Pinterest. We need to make two cards to swap, but I always make an extra for the hostess. This was a fun project to make, because it was sort of a challenge for me and I was able to use my new framelits, Cups and Kettle Framelit Dies. I also made envelopes to match.

The postcard digital stamp is from www.eatdrinkchic.com. When I can find the direct link, I will post it. Yay, I found it! DIY Paper Reindeer and Postcard and Tag. She's very creative, a lot of adorable projects, too!

Join the fun at www.yourpaperpantry.ning.com. There's a lot of inspiration, challenges and swaps. Also, a great way to make new friends online!

Thank you for stopping by.

Zoo Babies and Sweet Li'l Things

Hello, today I have a cute card share with Zoo Babies stamp set and Sweet Li'l Things Designer Series Paper. These little cards came together quickly. They would be perfect to include a gift card or attached to a package for a baby shower. I made the coordinating envelope with the envelope punch board.

These cards measure 3 1/4" x 4 1/4", I cut the card stock 6 1/2" x 4 1/4" and then fold in half. I cut another piece of card stock 3" x 4", I stamped the sentiment and dry embossed the top half with Decorative Dots embossing folder. I added the ribbon and then mounted it onto the card base. I stamped the monkey and toucan on very vanilla card stock and then punched with circle punch. I punched another coordinating piece of card stock with scallop punch. I used Stampin' Dimensionals to mount onto card. As you can see this is a very simple card. I'll list the products I used below.

Zoo Babies stamp set   130456
Sweet Li'l Things DSP   138447
Pool Party, Very Vanilla, Hello Honey, Watermelon Wonder card stock

Bloom Sew Along, Weeks Three and Four

Hello, I just wanted to give you an update on my blocks and I'm finally caught up today! Well, block five starts today, so I hope to get started on that soon. I'm still working out my mess ups, but give me time and I'll be able to get through these easily. I love the vintage look of these fabrics, Calico Days by Lori Holt. The fabrics coordinate with each other, so you really can't go wrong matching all the different pieces to make a block.

Block four

You can follow and check others quilters progress on instagram. It's so nice to see how others are doing.

Take care, see you tomorrow!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Yesterday, I spent the day with my cousin Chris, and we had a fun day sharing decorating and crafting ideas, as well as driving around town looking at some awesome houses, went to a antique shop and stopping for lunch for some delicious sandwiches at a local deli. I brought her some little Valentine gifts for the family. She, of course, took a beautiful photo to share on Facebook. It just made it more special! It made me realize that the small things can brighten someones day .... and enough to share with their friends.

Pictured are January Paper Pumpkin and Valentine's Day treat bags idea I found on Pinterest, Julie's Stamping Spot. These treat bags can be made for any occasion by just changing the cardstock and designer papers you use. Oh yes, don't you love my cousin's table arrangement?

Have a beautiful day and as always thank you for visiting.

My quilt blocks

Hello, I know it's been awhile, but I've been busy planning projects for work and trying to keep up with Lori Holt's Bloom sew along. Yikes, how do quilters do it. It's been a real challenge for me and it's just a block a week and it really shouldn't be that difficult. Of course, I haven't sewn in awhile so it hasn't been easy for me. I did my applique with the blanket stitch, but some pieces I ended up doing by hand, just because I need more practice.

Block 1

Block 2

I'm almost done with block 3, but I should be on block 4. I have a four day weekend, so I'll have to do some serious catching up and hopefully get started on block 5.

I wish you a wonderful weekend and Happy Valentine's Day!
Thank you for stopping by.

Halloween treat bags

Good morning! A quick craft share with mini treat bags. Very simple to put together, I'm looking forward to making these because I love...
