Bread Pudding recipe

I've never made bread pudding, even though I always end up throwing out day old French bread. What a waste, because this recipe came together quickly and was ready by the time we finished dinner. I don't know why I have never made it before. It was very good and wasn't terribly sweet like the bread pudding I bought last week at the grocery store.

Here is the recipe for you.

Bread Pudding

6 slices day-old bread
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 cup raisins (optional)
4 eggs, beaten
2 cups milk
3/4 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Break bread into small pieces into an 8 inch square baking pan. Drizzle melted butter or margarine over bread. If desired, sprinkle with raisins.

In a medium mixing bowl, combine eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla. Beat until well mixed. Pour over bread, and lightly push down with a fork until bread is covered and soaking up the egg mixture.

Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the top springs back when lightly tapped.

September Pocket Card Swap at Your Paper Pantry

My first time making pocket note cards, which were so easy and fun. I got a little carried away making pocket cards, just wanted to get it right. These are great for gift cards, small notes or maybe a treat, or on a scrapbook page to tuck in a photo or journaling spot. Here are the pocket note cards that I mailed off for the swap. Of course, I waited until the last minute, so I didn't think to take a photo before I packaged them up and rushed off to the post office, but you get the idea. Since they were in the correspondence group I figured I needed envelopes, but I didn't have envelopes that fit them to look cute. So what did I do? Made those as well! At least I was able to use my envelope punch board, lol!

And here is a little extra on the back, I made some tags!

More pocket note cards .... yeah, I was on a roll!

Christmas Card Challenge for September at Your Paper Pantry

Here are my Christmas cards for September's challenge. This month we could copy one our Christmas cards from last year (optional), which would have been easier for me, but I was so in love with this new Stampin' UP! paper that I couldn't resist! I copied one of the cards from the catalog, well sort of. It will be a while before I fussy cut again, lol.

Come join us at yourpaperpantry.ning for lots of challenges and swaps. I've just started doing swaps and it has been fun and way for me to get more ideas and think outside the box. Lots of great fun!

I'm back cross-stitching

Well, not yet, but real soon because my daughter found a Halloween cross-stitch booklet that I thought I lost forever. So my plans are to ...
