I haven't been doing much crafting lately. Just some Project Life layouts on the drive back home. I didn't have very many photos, so I had to make do with what I had. Here are two pages I made with the Project Life App on my ipad. It was very quick and easy to do. I can have them printed out 12x12 or 8x8 size for my photo album. Pretty nice!

Back home . . . .
Hello, we're back home from our week stay with family in Sacramento. I think it was the warmest Thanksgiving ever, but still beautiful to see all the trees changing colors. I just love that and miss it, too.

Baking season is here!
I work at an afterschool program and for snack the children usually have veggies and sunflower butter, or crackers, cheese sticks, fruit or sandwiches. We always have a lot of left overs. Well, I came across this recipe in a magazine that my Mom always sends me. It's a local super market magazine in Northern California, Something Extra Magazine. I found the perfect cookie recipe to share with the children using some of the sunflower butter. I hope they like Chocolate Sunflower Cookies.
Chocolate Sunflower Cookies
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sunflower seed butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup Nestle Toll House Delightfulls Caramel Filled Morsels
3/4 cup roasted, salted sunflower seeds
Stir together butter and sunflower seed butter in a large bowl; beat in sugars, then beat in vanilla and eggs. Stir in flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt, then stir in caramel morsels. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 350°F and line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Roll dough into 1½-inch balls and roll in sunflower seeds. Place on baking sheets and bake for 12 to 15 minutes. Let cool completely, then store in an airtight container.
These cookies look a lot lighter in color, but they are much darker (and not the greatest photo, either). I didn't have sunflower seeds, I just sprinkled the tops with turbinado sugar instead. Hope you give this recipe a try and share with your family and friends this holiday season.

I'm back . . . .
Hello, I'm back and here's what's happening .... still making stuff, but it has been crazy with what has been going on around here. I haven't posted about our home remodeling project we've been doing recently. Two years ago we did our kitchen and master bedroom and bathroom. Now we have extended our living room, which took about five months, just too long!
Anyway, having a larger living room is great, we have so much more room! We've had many compliments as the work progressed through the weeks by neighbors and passersby. I'll post a more photos later.
It's been finished since this summer and now it looks like things are getting back to normal. Of course, my craft room is taking it's toll, it has turned into a catch all room. It's also our office, so it's been hard for me to get inspired lately to make anything. I try to keep everything separate, I guess I have too many hobbies. It's not a big space, but I'll make it work.
Ha-ha, found my old sewing machine cover, finally. Yes, I made it a long time ago, but I still need it! Also, I'm excited to share of my recent book purchase, I'm looking forward to making this doll for myself!

I heard about "The Making of a Rag Doll" by Jess Brown on a recent podcast, which was very interesting and now I want this cute little rag doll. Yay, I think I've been inspired to sew again! It's been a very long time.
