So What's Been Happening?

I'm still here, again busy schedule ahead of me. I've also been a little more of a business person with my side biz as an Avon sales rep. and I didn't realize how easy it can be. Just a few phone calls and emails, plus getting my brochure out to old customers which brought in new orders. So looks like this campaign will be a decent one! Something that hasn't happened in a long time.

Yesterday was my husband's birthday. We had a quiet gathering at our house with our neighbors. I think it's just the way he wanted it. I wished our daughter was able to come down this weekend, but she started working at Starbucks last month and usually has to work the weekends.

Oh, and how can I forget! Well, I don't like writing about work, I don't know why, I like my job (just not getting up a 5am in the morning). Anyway, the "kids" went back to school! Yes, "kids" as in the children I work with at a before and afterschool program at a nearby elementary school. The children had a great summer, but it was time for them to get back structure and a regular routine and it was time for the 5th graders to move on to their middle school! In the meantime, their is still staff members planning on taking vacations this month and have asked me to sub for them in the afternoons. So I'll be working split shifts for the rest of the month and probably be asked to sub in the months ahead. That's okay, I can use the extra dough until my business gets busy if you know what I mean. I've been a rep. for almost 2 years and it's been a hobby at this point. I have enough hobbies, already!

Ah, Cooler Days Ahead

and I managed to sew a new lining for my sewing basket. Not much, but it's a start. I've been so out of it lately, I can't even bring myself to blog . . . I mean, what would I write about. I haven't been crafting or cooking anything special for that matter. Life has been pretty dull lately. Although, I've found plenty of resources and ideas online. So cool, I came across a couple of freebie transfers from one the flickr groups. These Mexican motifs are cute and I'm wondering what I could make out of them. My daughter suggested pillows. Maybe tea towels or square table cloth or placements. I don't know, I'll have to think about. I have plenty of other transfers, but I like the Mexican theme for some reason. I also found some websites on fiber postcards (or fabric postcards) and I thought it would be nice to make one and mail it to my cousin for her birthday. So I've been playing around with fabrics on that idea. I better get cracking, her birthday is just right around the corner. Hmmm, maybe a stitched sombrero would be cute.

Okay, I must run I have dishes in the sink, ideas swimming around in my head, and stitching that I just may get to before the night is over.

I'm back cross-stitching

Well, not yet, but real soon because my daughter found a Halloween cross-stitch booklet that I thought I lost forever. So my plans are to ...
