Happy Halloween!
As for my weekend, it just flew by. I went to a baby shower on Saturday afternoon. It was at the Olive Garden and the food was delicious! I saw a few of my good friends that I haven't seen in a long time, hopefully we'll be able to get together soon. My one friend is into stamping and wants me to come to her stamping group next week. Here we go again, another craft to get involved in. I need that like I need a hole in the head! I did buy some stamps a few months back, but I haven't touched them. So here's my opportunity.
Okay, the doorbell is ringing . . . . have a great evening! Be safe.

How easy was that!
Halloween Memories
I love "Snow White", because I think she really looked like Snow White! She was also Olive Oyl and then the Queen of Hearts. She didn't like the Queen of Hearts. It was fine at first, but once she got the costume on and she was walking with it, she was miserable. And then a young boy laughed at her and then she really wanted that costume off! Of course, she also wanted "tricks or treats", too, so she stuck with it. Of course, this year she's going to a party with friends from college and I pray that she's safe. At least, she's not driving and it's with her church group. I shouldn't worry. (sigh)
This is an old scan, I'm going to try to re-scan "Snow White", because I really love that picture and every copy on the computer I have is blurry. I have a newer scanner now, so I may have better luck.

So glad for Friday!
Oh, speaking of work, the most embarassing thing happened to me. My alarm clock didn't go off because we had a power outage during the night. I have to write this down so I can look back and laugh, but at the time it was not funny. I have to be at work at 6:30am and because it's childcare, I have quite a few parents that arrive with their children so they can go to work. Well, not good if the person who is watching their child is not there. I had some very upset parents waiting, the supervisor managed to get there before me. So it all worked out okay, even though late in opening. I apologized to them this morning, they figured it was the power outage. One dad said if it wasn't for his cell phone alarm he would have been running late, too. So now I need to figure out how to set my cell phone as a backup. I replaced the battery in my alarm clock. I hope that never happens to me again, that little fiasco pretty much ruined my whole day.
Yes, I'm so glad it's Friday!

Rain, rain, go away
Anyway, right now it's cozy inside, even though I'm home alone. I baked two cakes, but single layer cakes, that's enough. I made applesauce with most of my apples, and that was used as one of the ingredients for both cakes; the Applesauce Cake from King Arthur Flour website and the other is an Espresso Cake from somewhere in Weight Watcher land. It's supposed to be 1 point per serving, but sheesh, it serves 14! I guess you get a sliver. They both smell delicious. I'll sample the Espresso Cake later. DD left earlier, so looks like I'll be taking cakes to work tomorrow. I know the children will enjoy.
Early morning ramblings
DD is still here, she'll be leaving later today. We enjoyed the movie yesterday, "Elizabethtown". Definately a chic's movie, very cute. It was one of those "feel-good" movies, I like the family coming together, it kind of reminded of our family get-togethers. We haven't had one in a long time, usually weddings we're able to see each other, and it's been an awfully long time since we had a funeral (well, that I have been able to go to) or a family reunion.
Okay, enough. I need to get to my chores, ugh.

Here's my dd enjoying herself. And then there's me blowing out all those candles and looking not too cute from the side view. Now that's an incentive to get some weight off.

Whew . . .
Today was my errand day, you know, making phone calls, paying bills and then dashing off to the post office. Then I spent the rest of the afternoon trying to make some sense out of this office. I have piles of papers that need to be filed, a box load of stuff that really need to be shredded, but I should go through it first. So tomorrow, after I work my Avon, I will tackle this office. Plus get to the gym, because I didn't go today.
Next week I'll have a few days to myself, I probably will be able to do something constructive. Dh is going out of town on business for a few days, so I'll have to plan my time wisely and get all my chores out of the way by this weekend. It will be nice to stitch again, but I'm not crazy about being home alone.
Time for bed. Goodnight, all.

Monday and a little bit normal around here
Anyway, when I came home my Avon fundraiser packages arrived. Boy, were the boxes beat up looking. At least all the product was there intact, a few little leaks, but nothing major. So I spent a couple of hours sorting that out and getting it all cleaned and bagged and ready to take to work. Later, I finally made it to the gym. I hope I'm not sore tomorrow. I thought I would have time for Pilates, but maybe tomorrow. I want to get back to my stitching, but I'm going to have to seriously organize my time, as well as my life. I feel like I'm going in all kinds of directions and not making any progress at anything. Yes, I know alot of my energy is spent at work, but there is no reason why I can't make things work at home. That is something I just need to work out, I guess.
It's late, so I'll turn in and maybe tomorrow things will change.

Ahhh, the weekend!
Anyway, here are my results of this morning's weigh-in. So looks like I'm doing well, considereing some of my daily struggles. My dear cousin lost as well, so we are looking good!

Small little victory ...
Another week has flown by and I made it. We weighed in this morning and I lost a pound and half, I'm happy with that. Weight Watcher's core plan isn't so bad, I find that I'm not as hungry as I use to be and I have lost those "bread" cravings, plus it's a healthy way of eating.
As for my stitching goals, forget it! Work is just getting in the way, and next week isn't getting any better. The site supervisor is going on vacation and I'm sort of running the show for the week. I hope next week goes by fast. This morning I'm meeting my co-worker at the library and we're going to check out books on our theme for next week, Earth Science Week. There is also a street fair that is next to the library on Saturdays, so we'll check that out. I've never been to it. Besides that, I hope to have my usual housecleaning done sometime this weekend. I have alot of Avon paperwork to do. This must be my lucky week, besides a fundraiser I'm doing (which helps me achieve my sales goal for the year), I have quite a few orders without even trying to sell Avon. That's good, because I'm a terrible sales person!
I think Sundays are my best days to sit and relax and do a little stitching. So I'm hoping I'll at least have progress pictures to post and return to blogging a little bit more next week.
Have a great day!
